Gem Theatre Wedding

Get comfortable, fam… This Gem Theatre wedding might be my longest blog post. Ever.

I started my day off at Maria’s parent’s house. All of the bridesmaids were dressed in the most adorable matching robes. Seriously, this is one wedding trend I hope stays forever and ever. Bridesmaids are there on the wedding day to support the bride and be there for her in every way possible. I hear that sometimes bridesmaids are scared when asked to be one, just in case they don’t like the dress or it doesn’t look right on them! That is totally understandable and can be harder for women who are plus-sized but finding the right plus size bridesmaid dresses, will make them feel as beautiful as they should do, because your size does not matter. Everyone was looking fab and super excited to get Maria + Alex married. We then headed to one of the most beautiful historic churches in Detroit, Sweetest Heart of Mary. This church is no joke, you guys. Stunning cathedral ceilings with the most intricate details. It was the perfect place for Maria + Alex to start their forever together.

After, we beat the rain at the DIA and photographed their glam bridal party. Mother Nature was on our side this day. It rained just enough to make sure Maria + Alex had a healthy dose of good luck but not enough to kill the vibe. Photographing Maria + Alex was easy – these two love each other hard and they aren’t bad to look at either. They are my kind of people and I’m happy to say they are now my friends. It was such a treat to see two families, who have been friends for years, become one.

I could keep rambling on but I’m going to let these images speak for themselves. I mean there are like 40+ of them here, my words simply cannot do them justice. I hope you all love them as much as I do.
